About Me

Rooted in Service,
Proud to Call Pembroke Home

I am the proud daughter of a Police Officer and a long line of teachers. In my family, civic responsibility wasn’t just a value; it was a way of life, passed down through generations. That foundation shaped everything I have become.

Over more than 25 years, I have built businesses, managed people and projects, and led teams through every challenge that comes with running an organization well. I am the wife of a municipal worker and the mother of a rambunctious 8-year-old, a family that lives and breathes public service every single day.

When our son turned four, my husband and I faced a choice: where would we raise him? We wanted a great school system, a warm and active community, and neighbors who look out for each other. Pembroke was the only choice for both of us, and every day since we’ve been affirmed in that decision. I am grateful and proud to be part of this community of kind, intelligent, and passionate neighbors and friends.

A Family of Service

For more than 25 years, I have built businesses, managed people and projects, and developed the leadership skills that define my approach to every challenge, while learning more about myself every day.
A Deliberate Choice
Choosing Pembroke
When our son turned four, my husband and I chose Pembroke for its great schools, warm community, and neighbors who look out for each other. It was the only choice for both of us, and every day since has affirmed it.

Running for Select Board
I love this community, and the people are what make Pembroke great. I am running to truly listen, to advocate, and to give every resident a voice and a seat at the table on the Select Board.
My Platform

Four Commitments
to Pembroke

01
Pillar One

Listen to Community

The people of Pembroke are what make this town great. My approach is simple and consistent: I engage with residents across our community and fellow board members, spark real conversations, and truly listen. Every voice matters, and I will carry the words, wants, needs, and concerns of my neighbors into every decision I make on the Select Board. Good leadership doesn’t talk at people; it listens to them.

Engage. Listen. Act.
02
Pillar Two

Fiscal Responsibility

I am committed to responsible, transparent spending that protects our town’s future while remaining mindful of our residents and seniors on a fixed income. That means evaluating all information carefully before moving forward, never rushing, never cutting corners, and never spending without clear purpose and accountability to the people of Pembroke.

Transparent. Thoughtful. Accountable.
03
Pillar Three

Pembroke Strong

I commit to partnering with our first responders, School Superintendent, and Town Manager to make the services our families depend on a top priority. A thriving community is built on the people who show up every day to keep it running. I will champion the resources, support, and investment that keep Pembroke’s schools, public safety, and essential services strong for every family in town.

Partner with those who serve. Prioritize what matters.
04
Pillar Four

Our Land, Our Water

I am passionate about Pembroke’s waterways and natural beauty. I prioritize protecting our ponds, green spaces, and natural resources to ensure they remain a legacy for future generations. The environment that defines so much of what makes Pembroke special deserves a seat at the table in every decision the Select Board makes. What we protect today, our children will cherish tomorrow.

Protect our ponds. Preserve our legacy.
Tara Gendreau and family

“The people are what makes Pembroke great. I want to be present for this community, to listen, to advocate, and to help shape a future our children will be proud to grow up in.”
